Olympics Unleashed

Olympics Unleashed

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is proud to be partnering with the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) to roll out an exciting new schools based program - Olympics Unleashed

The program will see Queensland athletes travelling to classrooms throughout the state with an aim to inspire and motivate students to unleash their passion.

The QAS has a strong relationship with the Department of Education following the success of QAS4Schools, which saw athletes visit upwards of 80,000 students across 438 Queensland primary schools.

The Olympics Unleashed program presents yet another unique opportunity to work together with the Department of Education to deliver important messaging to Queensland students. And what could be better than hearing and learning from our state’s sporting heroes!

Olympians, Paralympians and athletes aspiring for Tokyo 2020 are excited to visit schools to help Queensland schoolkids be the best version of themselves.

Presented in an interactive and engaging way, these ordinary people doing extraordinary things will share how they have set goals, overcome challenges and demonstrated perseverance to unleash their potential.

We want to bring out the ‘Olympic Spirit’ in all students to pursue their passion whether that’s in sport, the classroom, the playground or at home.

The 45 minute presentations are aimed at Years 4 - 6 and will involve athletes sharing experiences from their Olympic and Paralympic journey that every student can learn from.

A bonus for the students and teachers alike - athletes will also have time to interact and sign autographs following their presentation.

Olympics Unleashed is provided at no cost to schools
