Distance Education Fees - 2009

A number of our secondary schools access the resources of the School of Distance Education The Federation has been involved in discussions on the fees students will be charged in the future. We have now been informed that a new flat fee of $1000 per subject is now payable for distance education provided to non-state schools from 1 January 2009.

 

The fee is payable on enrolment and the service to the student will only be provided if the fee is paid in full. The fee will increase by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) each year and the fee will be reviewed in 2012.   A transition period will apply which exempts Year 11 students, currently enrolled in a subject in 2008 from paying the fee in 2009 for the same subject Fees may be waived (fully or partially) on a case by case basis for educational disadvantage reasons and financial hardship. Applications for waivers will be given favourable consideration if a student is:
